Biography

Thomas M. Neches, CPA, ABV, CVA, CFE, CFF, is the managing partner of Thomas Neches & Company LLP in Los Angeles, a firm providing accounting, financial, business valuation, and statistical analysis for litigation. He holds a BA in Mathematics and Literature from UC San Diego and an MS in Operations Research from UCLA. He has more than 40 years of professional experience, including 33 years in litigation services, and has been retained as a financial expert in more than 700 engagements, testifying at trial more than 80 times. Earlier in his career he was a senior partner at Simpson & Company, a partner in litigation services at Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) in Los Angeles, a manager in management consulting at Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young), and head of technical staff at The Assessment Group, where he performed Navy economic and cost analysis. He has served as a Judicial Arbitrator for the Superior Court of California, Los Angeles County, and was an Adjunct Professor at Loyola Law School from 2003 to 2013. He has testified in state and federal courts in Arizona, California, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Nevada, New York, and Oregon, on antitrust, breach of contract, fraud, intellectual property, lender liability, personal injury, and wrongful termination matters. He co-authored the chapter "Use of Expert Witnesses" in Prosecuting and Defending Insurance Claims (John Wiley & Sons, 1989). He is a member of the AICPA, the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the American Statistical Association, and the American Bar Association.
