Chemical, Materials & Industrial Engineering · Licensed: MD
Biography
Founder, President, and Principal Scientist of Anderson Materials Evaluation, Inc. (Columbia, MD, est. 1995). He holds a Sc.B. in Physics from Brown University (1969) and a Ph.D. in Physics from Case Western Reserve University (1978); his CV notes a gap for U.S. Army service in Vietnam. Career: NSF Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Associate, Case Western Reserve (1978–1980, Mössbauer/Auger surface analysis); Research Physicist, Naval Surface Warfare Center, White Oak MD (1980–1990, surface analysis for corrosion, batteries, coatings, energetic materials); Senior Scientist & Head of Surface Analysis Laboratory, Lockheed Martin Laboratories, Baltimore (1990–1995, adhesive bonding, corrosion in electronics, rocket-engine failures, satellite electronics). His focus is surface chemistry/contamination, adhesive bonding failure, thin film/coating characterization, corrosion at surfaces/interfaces, aerospace and biomedical materials, using XPS/ESCA, SEM/EDX, FTIR, and related techniques. His resume lists roughly 16 specific past litigation/investigation matters by subject (not case names) — e.g. eyeglass-lens safety-glass analysis, aluminum dump truck weld failures, and a coloration-coatings IP-theft dispute described as producing "the largest intellectual property theft damages ever in the State of Connecticut, damages later reduced" (no case name given).
